Driver Qualifications

Requirements all TXLA Intermodal Drivers

• Must be at least 21 years of age.
• Two (2) years verifiable over-the-road experience within the last 3 years. (At least 6 months in the past year)
• No DWI, DUI, OUI, or BAC Driving convictions within the last seven years of application date.
• No more than three moving violations within three years of application date, none serious by DOT standards.
• No license suspensions of more than 30 days in the last 3 years
• CDL-Class A
• No failure of or refusal to take an illegal substance/alcohol test ever.
• No more than one DOT Recordable accident per year.
• No misdemeanors in the last 3 years and no felony convictions in the last 10 years.
• No more than five jobs in the most recent three years of employment.
• No abandonment of equipment or unauthorized use of equipment ever.
• Must meet DOT Medical Examination Qualifications outlined in FMCSR 391.43 – 391.45, including Substance (DRUG) testing.
• Must comply with all other DOT qualification requirements.
• Professional appearance required at all times.
• Signed Agreement with TXLA Intermodal
• Bill of sale & Registration
• 2290 Form - paid
• Provide original title or lien holder information
• Signature of a power of attorney
• Tractor cannot be more than 6 years old.
• Tractor wheel base cannot exceed 265"
• Tractor weight cannot exceed 20,500 lbs. full of fuel
• Vehicle must pass initial sign-on inspection; which will be TXLA Intermodal funded
• Telecommunication charge of $50 per month
• Disclosure


Misrepresentation or omission of information or facts may result in rejection or dismissal of employment. Further, any misrepresentation or omission of information or facts discovered after employment may result in termination of employment not withstanding the fact that providing such information at time of application would not have disqualified the applicant for employment.
